Sue Tin brought her experience with the School of Medicine to the Foundation office in July 2008 when she became Director of Annual Fund. Sue joined the School’s Division of Biomedical Communications in 1986, following graduate work at Sangamon State University in Springfield (now the University of Illinois at Springfield). The Biomedical Communications team produced educational and instructional television programs, and expanded its service into web design and other media as the Educational Media Group at SIU.
In addition to her responsibilities of raising money for the School’s annual fund, Sue works with various committees and events to raise philanthropic gifts for the School of Medicine’s many departments and programs. For over 22 years, Sue has been telling the stories of the School’s faculty, students, and researchers. Her experiences allow her to bring the mission of the School of Medicine alive in communications with alumni and the general public.
According to Sue, “I’m delighted to tell our stories and ask the community to share our dreams to make big things happen in medicine to change lives. I am always awed by what we can do and where we’re going at SIU”.
Sue and her husband, psychologist Howard Tin, live in Springfield. |
