This November, the city of Houston will officially become Saluki country. SIU alumni and friends of the university are encouraged to join the fun.

Chancellor Austin A. Lane is excited to host Houston-area Salukis at a complimentary reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at Toro Toro inside the Four Seasons Hotel Houston (1300 Lamar St., Houston, TX 77010).

Join us for the Saluki Takeover Tour in Houston! Reconnect with fellow alumni and friends of SIU, hear updates from Chancellor Lane and enjoy an evening celebrating Saluki pride at the Four Seasons Hotel Houston.

The event will be casual, but business casual attire is suggested (and maroon is always a great choice).

Valet parking is available at the Four Seasons Hotel Houston for a fee. Guests may also find self-parking options in nearby public garages within walking distance of the hotel.

Join the SIU Foundation Women's Leadership Council for an evening of connection, conversation and inspiration in Houston, Texas.

Hosted by Loren Lane, wife of SIU Chancellor Austin A. Lane, and Rachel Gower, a member of the Gower family whose longstanding generosity has supported SIU, this special gathering will bring women together to build relationships, share experiences and celebrate confidence at every stage of life.

The evening will feature “Crowned in Confidence: Hair, Image & the Power of Showing Up,” an engaging discussion led by Rachel Gower. Guests will explore how personal style, hair care and self-image can influence confidence, with practical insights on maintaining healthy hair, navigating changes as women age and embracing personal style.

Attendees will also enjoy refreshments and opportunities to connect with fellow members and friends of the SIU community.
