Look out, Florida! The Salukis are taking over!

Chancellor Austin A. Lane invites you to join your fellow SIU alumni and representatives from the university for the 5th Annual Saluki Takeover Tour Florida. Visiting St. Petersburg, Tampa and Naples, we look forward to seeing as many alumni and friends as possible during our visit to the Sunshine State. 

St. Petersburg: Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026

Join us for A Special Evening Aboard La Dolce Vita, hosted by SIU alumnus James Jannetides ’89, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club (11 Central Ave., St. Petersburg, FL). This intimate experience is limited to 60 guests, and registration must be made in advance.

Enjoy an elegant evening on the water in a beautiful waterfront setting, connecting with fellow Salukis aboard a private yacht docked at one of Florida’s most iconic yacht clubs. This special gathering offers a relaxed, refined atmosphere perfect for conversation and connection.

Please note the club’s dress code requires a collared shirt and no torn denim. Light-soled boat shoes must be worn while on the yacht. Parking is available via valet at the club for $7 per car, or street parking is available nearby.

 

Tampa: Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026

Join us for a special Chancellor’s Reception from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 11, at Jackson’s Bistro Bar & Sushi (601 S. Harbour Island Blvd., Ste. 100, Tampa, FL). This event is free to attend.

Experience the vibrant energy of Jackson’s, a Tampa favorite since 1997 known for its exceptional food, upbeat atmosphere, and unparalleled waterfront views. Don’t miss this chance to connect with fellow Salukis in a stunning setting overlooking the city’s dynamic skyline!

Naples: Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026

Join us for a special Chancellor's Reception from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12, at the beautiful Windstar on Naples Bay (1700 Windstar Blvd., Naples, FL). This event is free to attend.

Experience the charm of Windstar, the only private club in Naples offering golf along the bay, a marina, and a private beach. Don’t miss this chance to connect with fellow Salukis in this stunning, welcoming setting!
