Lobby and galleries will be open for this event
Look out, Peoria! The Salukis are taking over. Chancellor Austin A. Lane invites you to join fellow SIU alumni, friends, and university leaders for the first-ever Saluki Takeover Tour Peoria. We’re excited to gather Salukis from across central Illinois for an evening of connection, conversation, and celebration of all that’s shaping SIU’s future.
This special reception will take place inside the Peoria Riverfront Museum (222 SW Washington St., Peoria, IL), where guests will enjoy access to the museum’s lobby and galleries while reconnecting with the Saluki community. Whether you’re a longtime alum or newly connected to SIU, this event is an opportunity to engage with university leadership and fellow Salukis in a truly unique setting.
About the Peoria Riverfront Museum
The Peoria Riverfront Museum is the only multidisciplinary museum of its kind in the nation, bringing together art, science, history, and achievement to inspire lifelong learning. Since opening in 2012, the privately funded, AAM-accredited, Smithsonian-affiliated museum has provided more than one million experiences through major exhibitions, interactive galleries, a dome planetarium, and a giant screen theater. Housed in a LEED Gold-certified building overlooking the Illinois River, the museum has been recognized by the American Institute of Architects as one of the 200 Great Places in Illinois.
We look forward to welcoming Salukis from Peoria and beyond for this stop on the Saluki Takeover Tour.
