Thursday, April 16: Mt. Vernon
Chancellor’s Reception: 6 to 8 p.m.
Join fellow Salukis in Mt. Vernon for an evening of connection and celebration at the DoubleTree Hotel. Guests will gather in Salon A, just outside the Double Overtime Grill, for a Chancellor’s Reception featuring appetizers, beer and wine, along with remarks from Chancellor Austin A. Lane.
This special stop is made possible thanks to the generosity of SIU alumnus and former Saluki Football student-athlete Mike Carbonaro '89, who provided the space in support of the Saluki community.
Tuesday, April 21: Carterville
62 Social House

Chancellor’s Reception: 6 to 8 p.m.
Guests will gather at the newly announced 62 Social House in downtown Carterville for an evening of Saluki pride and community. Beer and wine will be served alongside appetizers prepared by 618 Tap House.
The Chancellor’s Reception will be the first official event at 62 Social House, owned by SIU alumnus Doug Deaton ’09, also owner of 618 Tap House and The Cross-Eyed Bear.
Thursday, April 23: Red Bud
1860 Public House

Chancellor’s Reception: 6 to 8 p.m.
The 2026 Saluki Takeover Tour concludes in Red Bud at 1860 Public House. Guests will gather upstairs in the banquet room of the historic downtown building for an evening of conversation, connection and celebration with fellow Salukis. Beer, wine and appetizers will be provided.
Each stop on the Saluki Takeover Tour in Southern Illinois offers a unique opportunity to engage with the local community, meet fellow Salukis, and share in the excitement of SIU.
