Jen Badiu

Jen Badiu joined the SIU Foundation as Assistant Director of Development for the College of Engineering, Computing, Technology, & Mathematics. In this role, she will play a vital role in engaging Saluki Alumni to foster and support the innovative efforts of the college.
Jen served as an Academic Advisor for the SIU College of Health & Human Sciences, supporting the growth, development, and educational goals of students, as well as her own. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University, a master’s degree from Nova Southeastern University, and has started working towards her doctoral degree here at SIU.
In 2005, Jen was recruited to Southern Illinois, where she served as System Director for Southern Illinois Healthcare. She oversaw the growth and development of the region’s first comprehensive freestanding cancer center, Breast Centers, and established the Office of Clinical Research. Jen was instrumental in the initiation of fundraising efforts, including Pink Out Cancer, Black Out Cancer, SIU Coach Kill Cancer Fund, and SIH Grateful Patient & Family Giving Fund. She also secured numerous private, federal, and state grants and donations, gaining support from beyond the southern Illinois region.
The SIH Hope is Home campaign kicked off in April 2012 and again in 2018. This campaign impacted the entire region, raising more than $20 million, including $10 million awarded through the Rebuild Illinois Infrastructure towards supporting the mission of the SIH Cancer Institute.
Jen resides in Carterville with her husband Cristian and their two daughters. She loves everything outdoors, including hiking, gardening, kayaking, golfing, and softball.
