Kate Hanson | SIU Foundation | SIU

Kate Hanson is the Director of Development for the SIU School of Law. Prior to the School of Law, Kate was the fundraiser for Saluki Athletics for four years. She moved to Carbondale in 2019 from Grand Junction, Colorado, where she founded Be Impactful, a community foundation focused on innovative grantmaking and community-driven philanthropy.

Before starting Be Impactful, Kate was a fundraiser for the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. Kate received her bachelor’s degree in Philosophy, Politics, Economics, and Law from the University of Arizona. She is a Kentucky native and lives in Carbondale with her husband, son, and their two dogs.

During her free time, she loves exploring Southern Illinois and spending time with friends.
