Kathryn Sime

Kathryn Sime, CFRE, joined the SIU Foundation in 2018 as director of development for the College of Education. She oversees fundraising initiatives for the college and serves as one of the regional representatives for the Southeast region, as well as Southern Illinois.
Before joining the SIU Foundation, Kathryn served as director of advancement for Centerstone of Illinois (formerly The H Group and Southern Illinois Regional Social Services), directing fundraising initiatives at the mental health agency for eight years. Additionally, Kathryn worked in the Chicago area as a consultant for The Alford Group and The Alford Group Executive Search and served as development director for the ELCA World Hunger Appeal of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
Kathryn received a bachelor’s degree from Luther College and a master’s degree from DePaul University. She and her husband live in Carbondale with two daughters. She serves on the board of the Friends of McLeod Summer Playhouse Theater and enjoys reading, tennis and exploring the beauty and bounty of Southern Illinois.
