Matt McCoy

Matt McCoy joined the SIU Foundation as the assistant director of annual giving in July 2013 and was named director of constituent relations in May 2017. He is responsible for fundraising and stewardship activities associated with faculty, staff, students and SIU retirees. Matt leads the alumni class reunion program, senior class giving projects and manages the campus-wide solicitation process.
In Matt’s previous role as assistant director of annual giving with the SIU Foundation, he managed the student phonathon program. He hired, trained and supervised a staff of 70 student callers and three supervisors. During his time in this position, the phonathon program raised over $1.8 million. Matt also served on the team for the inaugural SIU Day of Giving, which raised $341,000.
Before joining SIU, Matt worked for RuffaloCODY, a leading organization in non-profit fundraising. With RuffaloCODY, Matt managed student phonathon programs at New York University, Boston College, University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and University of Massachusetts Lowell. During his tenure at these schools, Matt raised more than $13 million in annual fund support.
Matt is an alumnus of Eastern Illinois University, having earned a bachelor’s degree in communication studies in 2003, with a minor in public relations. When Matt is not working you will usually find him on the golf course or walking his dog, Jordie. Matt is also an avid Green Bay Packers fan.
