Sherrica Davis-Hunt

Sherrica Davis-Hunt is the assistant vice chancellor for diversity, equity, and inclusion at the SIU Foundation. She develops strategies to ensure that every Saluki is afforded the opportunity to advance their education. Sherrica joined the SIU Foundation in 2022 as the first director of development for diversity, equity and inclusion. She previously served as Director of Institutional Advancement at Bishop State Community College in Mobile, Alabama. She was instrumental in starting the college’s first advancement office, where she oversaw the operations of the Foundation and all philanthropic initiatives of the college. She has over 15 years of international experience in business development and marketing in investment banking, technology, nonprofit, and higher education sectors.
Sherrica is a graduate of Talladega College with a BA in biology; St. John’s University Tobin College of Business with an MBA in marketing and finance; New York University with a professional certification in human resource management; and a current doctoral student studying education, policy, and law. Sherrica is a graduate of Leadership Mobile and the Leadership Alabama Initiative. She was honored in Mobile Bay Magazine as a member of the 2019 Class of 40 under 40, and as a Women’s Policy Institute Fellow for the Women’s Foundation of Alabama.

She is the wife of Marshall, who works as a financial advisor, and the mother to four beautiful children, Braxton, Malachi, Madiysn, and Kaven.
